April & Sarah’s Separation: Day 1

April’s last day in the office was Friday. While Mondays are never fun, today is worse than ever.

Welcome to my pity party…

I started the day waiting on my usual bench at North Station, next to my “favorite” domicile-challenged fatigues and camouflage enthusiast (after all these mornings I still can’t quite figure out what he is raging about, but no matter – he rages whether I get it or not). I sat and waited for… nothing, as it turns out. It took me a minute to realize that I was going to endure the commute on my own from now on.

So I journeyed the two miles to my office alone. I’m so used to blabbing about life on these walks that the silence felt completely unnatural and just plain wrong. In the future I am either going to have to find someone to call en route (any early risers out there itching for conversation?) or resort to talking to myself. Stay tuned…

And now I have to get to the business of business. Another day, another 14 cents. I will try to provide periodic updates throughout the day between bouts of loneliness and hysteria… and work, of course. Sigh.

  1. This is just so… sad.

    • You’re not kidding :*(

  2. Blow up dolls can serve many purposes…. most of which we shall not discuss here. But why not get one that in some way resembles April and travel with her each morning.
As you think of it, it will really be quite convenient…
Inflate as needed… deflate when not… always agrees with you ( which can be particularly helpful if a siege of Bridezilla over takes you), no need to purchase bday gifts or baby gifts, etc, no having to share that last bite of something you are really enjoying eating… and best of all, if you ever decide to drive to work you can travel in the commuter lane!

Life will still be good, Sarah, it will just take time to get used to the new good.

    • I know this may come as a surprise to you, dear cousin, but I have a tendency towards the “dramatic”… Life is good, it’s true! But who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned pity party every now and then? 😉 XO
LOVE the blow up doll idea… Carpool lane, here “we” come!

      • Um, if you purchase a blow-up April, can you at least put some tasteful clothes on my likeness? I’m thinking fishnets and a cone bra — just like Madonna!

        • But of course! Any requests for hair styles? I’m thinking something Jersylicious?
