Yesterday was my fantastic co-blogger Sarah’s birthday.  I won’t tell you exactly how old she is, but it rhymes with “dirty.”

Is that cake???

Welcome to a new decade, friend!

Belated Birthday Shout-Out

Yesterday morning I woke up and thought, “Hmmm… What am I going to blog about today?” And I couldn’t think of a single interesting thing. I couldn’t even think of a single uninteresting thing. So Sarah posted.

And then last night I realized what a complete jerk I am. Yesterday was The Other Sister’s birthday. I certainly didn’t forget about it. We celebrated over the weekend, and I called her yesterday to wish her a very happy birthday. But I forgot to give her a birthday shout-out. So here it is.

Happy Birthday, The Other Sister!!! I hope your day was relaxing and your dinner at the Rainforest Cafe delicious.

Happy Birthday To You!

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting The Other Sister, you are missing out. She has a laugh that can only be described as infectious. And if you see her toe start tapping, you best watch out because she is about to start dancing. She thinks it is hysterical when men drink from straws. And it is. She is terrified of windmills and raisins. She loves to run. And she is my little sister.

Case of the Mondays? No Thank You!

Mondays are usually pretty “carpy” days for this gal. It seems I contract a wicked Case of the Mondays more often than I care to admit (not to mention the Spastic Colon Sundays I endure in anticipation of the next day’s condition). But today is different! Today I was able to banish the work-week blues with one phrase:

From PhotoBucket

Happy Birthday, April!

That’s right, today is my bloggier half’s special day! And (she may clobber me for saying so, but here goes…) this isn’t just any birthday: today Arps turns 30!!! The big 3-0, the Dirty Thirty, the…okay, you get the picture.

Anyway, according to About.com, the thirtieth birthday is special because April is “now officially a mature and responsible adult who has the necessary wisdom to make important decisions in life. The 30th birthday heralds adult status with measured indulgence.”  Imagine, all that happened between yesterday and this morning… Amazing!

Happy birthday, Mrs. W!

Love,

Sarah

Birthday Shout-Out: Rhymes-With-Tzarina

Today, the ladies (don’t laugh – we heard that…) of Factinis & Factomelettes would like to send a special birthday shout-out to Sarah’s maid of honor and dear friend, Rhymes-With-Tzarina!

Happy Birthday, RWTz!!!  Your darling “daughter” Lily wanted to show her love on this special day, so she requested a cake baked for you in her image…

Arf means Happy Birthday!

Sorry it looks a little creepy.
And oddly unappetizing.
But it’s the thought that counts… and who said dog cakes would be flattering?

Love you,
Sarah

P.S. Jealous of Rhymes-With-Tzarina?  We don’t blame you – she’s kind of a big deal… However, if you’d like a little Factinis & Factomelettes Bday Shout-Out, too, all you have to do is ask!  Or get someone else to request we do it for you, if you’re feeling modest…

What Happens on October 24th?

I woke up this morning thinking there was something significant about October 24. But what could it be? It’s not yet Halloween (and my dad’s birthday). My grandma’s birthday was earlier in the week. Our clocks aren’t turned back until the end of the month. It’s Saturday, so I don’t have any meetings or appointments. Hmmm…

Oh, I know! Happy United Nations Day, everyone! How are you celebrating? Attending the UN Day Concert? Writing a letter to your Congressional representatives urging renewal of the UN? Educating yourself with the Cyber School Bus? No? Not so much? Me neither.

Because I just remembered why UN Day is so important to me: it’s Sarah’s birthday! I’m celebrating that by doing some of Sarah’s favorite things: staying in my pjs as long as possible, eating something with peanut butter, and maybe watching a movie. Happy birthday, Sarah!
