Today the ladies of Factinis & Factomelettes would like to extend our silliest birthday wishes to our dear reader, Sarah – also known as S#1

Quack Quack means Happy Birthday, Wellesley '03-style!

For those of you who wonder why she gets such an esteemed moniker, I can’t share all the gory details, but I can tell you that during our freshman year of college (holla, Wellesley!), I moved partway through the first semester to a new dorm and, you guessed it, Sarah lived there, too!  She was the first Sarah to reside there that year, which made me the second Sarah – hence our nicknames, S#1 and S#2.  Aren’t we clever little coeds?

The sordid details of the rest of the story surrounding my necessary move are not for our dear reader(s)’s eyes… I wouldn’t tarnish your sparkling outlook with such tales, so let’s move on.

Whoodles, Sarah is currently exploring my state of origin, Colorado, with her awesome wifey, and I hope the Mile High is showing her a good time!  Just be careful around Denver International Airport!

Happy Birthday, Schmommy!

Today is a very special day. It’s my Schmommy’s birthday. I’d tell you how old she is, but you probably wouldn’t believe me anyway, because very few nine-year-olds have given birth. Although one time when my parents were having the carpet in the family room replaced, the carpet guy mistook us for sisters (and me for the lady of the house — EW!). So maybe you would believe me if I told you Schmommy is not much older than I.

Happy Birthday, Schmommy!

Hoodles, Schmommy is an amazing woman who is raising the last of three little hellions. And she’s one heck of a cool gram-gram to little Max. Have you heard about her organic community garden? It’s kind of a big deal. Hers is the one that supplied an entire winter’s worth of potatoes last year. I’ve been reaping the benefits of said garden for the past three months. Delish!

Also, is anyone else thinking it’s a pretty crazy coincidence that the mothers of Factinis & Factomelettes have birthdays a mere seven days apart?

Birthday Shout-Out: Momma G!

My mom is kind of a big deal. There, I said it. I’m a little obsessed, and I’m not the only one! In addition to a doting husband and two kids who couldn’t be prouder of her, more Facebook friends than most people I know, and an inestimable number of folks dedicated to finding a cure for multiple sclerosis (not to mention a few celebs that she’s too modest to mention), my mom finds admirers everywhere, even in the produce aisle!

What’s my excuse for this particular flood of admiration? Well, today is my dear mom’s birthday and if anyone deserves a shout-out, she does!

Happy Birthday, mom! You are my inspiration!

Brooke’s Birthday Shout-Out

Happy Birthday

This birthday clown is really scary... Why do parents do this? Brooke, we like you so much that we would never send a birthday clown to your house.

Today we’d like to give a very warm birthday shout-out to one of our most loyal fans and prolific commenters, Brooke!  From delightful tales of jeggings with faux cheetah trim to expressing her dislike of the word panties (I fully support you on this, by the way – that word is gross!), the necessity for ginger ale and mints in my wedding first aid kit to staying cool via the Scarlett O’Hara method, Brooke is an inexhaustible source of important information and friendly support.

We adore you, Brooke, and wish you a year full of joy!

Shout-Out: Butterflies say Happy Birthday!

Today I would like to give a special Factinis & Factomelettes Birthday Shout-Out to my dear cousin, Bunny! Our regular reader(s) will recognize her as the gal who suggests blow up dolls to cure loneliness, wants to hear all the sordid details of why I rarely drink in front of colleagues, stars in her own special “adult entertainment” acts at airports around the country, and is constantly encouraging me to let my inner bridezilla have some fun.

"Happy Birthday, Bunny! Please don't crunch me!"

What our readers may not realize is that the birthday gal is also an accomplished photographer, a pretty big deal on Flickr, and has accidentally injured more butterflies in her pursuit of sharing their beauty than anyone I know!  Seriously, our family genes are what some geneticists might call “special.”

Happy Birthday, Bunny!  Maybe you can take a day off from butterfly “appreciation”…

A Double Birthday Shout-Out

With the Northeast’s penchant for March blizzards, it is small wonder I know so many people with birthdays around this time. Today I’d like to give a loud Factinis & Factomelettes shout-out to two such cold-weather babies: Sarah’s soon-to-be-husband Andrew and my mother-in-law Schmatti.

First, hat’s off to you, Andrew! You make the lonely trek up to New Hampshire every morning for work, yet you have refrained from growing any manner of facial hair. While I think a Fu Manchu would be the perfect addition to your indescribable face, I realize your clean-shaven chin and upper lip is a testament to the respect you hold for your lady love’s wishes, so I applaud you for that. Furthermore, you have worked tirelessly to keep The Last Unicorn in the hearts and minds of countless female New Yorkers. It takes a special kind of person to demonstrate such dedication to that cause. I’ll allow my reader(s) to draw their own conclusions on what that means.

Second, on this day 40 years ago (WINK!), my mother-in-law Schmatti was born. Schmatti is a regular reader of this blog. I enjoy and appreciate that. She also strongly supports my love of As Seen on TV paraphenalia. In fact, she gave me Pro Caulk for Christmas (among other things). I don’t own a home, so my husband and father-in-law don’t grasp the necessity of said tool. However, I know plenty of people who do own homes, and I’d be willing to try out my caulking skills on their bathtubs (Schmatti, I’m looking at you). After all, whose grout couldn’t benefit from a touch-up?

So happy birthday, Andrew and Schmatti! We salute you, two of our regular readers. Although you both have yet to comment…

And if I missed anyone’s birthday, well, you’re just not that important. I kid! I kid! Tell me if you want birthday recognition. My brain is full of Jeopardy trivia and little-known facts — there’s no room for birthdays and anniversaries.

Happy Happy!

Happy New Year! Our apologies for beginning 2010 on a somewhat negligent note, but rest assured, dear reader(s), we will continue bringing you all the factinis and factomelettes you’ve come to expect from us throughout the year.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to send my co-blogger’s husband, Mike (or, Lamar, as he’s referred to in certain circles) a happy birthday shout-out!Wishing you a wonderful year full of the joys of fatherhood, matrimony, friendship, and blog-lurking! I’m mentally sending you a Carvel Ice Cream Cake with a handmade tooth decoration…

You’re only as young as your fake tattoos make you feel…

Dragon says Happy Birthday, Kris!

Fact: Today is the birthday of one of our fave people, a certain Ms. Kris Cova. She’s super-delicious. And super hot. We just adore her. Especially when she dresses in a theme — for example, sweats and her husband’s ratty t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, but a fleece on top just in case she gets in a car accident. She’s classy like that.
